Visit The NMAAHC

Even before the National Museum of African American History and Culture, affectionately known as NMAAHC, opened its doors on September 24, 2016, I was already a huge admirer.  Since it's opening I have had the pleasure of visiting several times, and believe me when I tell you, it never gets old.  The feeling of pride is almost palpable.  My most recent visit was a few weeks ago and I felt the same rush of excitement that I feel every time.

I will never forget the first time I visited the museum.  From the moment that I walked into the museum store, I wished to have some of my creations there to be part of this beautiful institution.

Thankfully, my wish came true in the Fall of 2019, and I'm still pinching myself today.

On my recent visit to the museum I checked out one of their Current Special Exhibitions, Reckoning: Protest.Defiance.Resilience.  The visual art is both beautiful and powerful.

If you're able to visit the museum while this special exhibit is there, I highly recommend it.
